Guided tour of Otranto: June 13, 2019

IWASI 2019 attendees are invited to a guided tour of Otranto. The tour will consist of a suggestive walk through the Otranto’s beauties, such as the old town alleys and the seafront, under the sunset light.
The guided tour will comprise a visit to the Otranto Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Otranto; Basilica Cattedrale di Santa Maria Annunziata).
The cathedral hosts a floor mosaic, which is one of the most important examples of 12th-century art.
It prominently features the Tree of Life growing and branching out into aisles, apses, and presbytery to represent the theological itinerary of salvation, from original sin to redemption. The tour will also comprise a visit to the “San Pietro” church in the Otranto old town.
The tour will conclude at the 19.30, when a bus will wait the attendees close to the Otranto's Castle to conduct them to the social dinner at “Il Villino” in Santa Cesarea Terme! Enjoy your guided tour!

Social Dinner: June 13, 2019

At the end of the first workshop day and after the guided tour of Otranto, all the attendees are invited to a Social Dinner at the restaurant “Il Villino” in Santa Cesarea Terme.

Enjoy the great taste of Apulian cuisine with the suggestive background of the Adriatic Sea.

A bus will wait the attendees near the Otranto’s Castle at the 19.30.

Tour of Tenuta Merico: June 14, 2019

After the closing ceremony and the IWASI 2019 awards, all the attendees are invited to visit Tenuta Merico. Here, for the interested attendees there will be an opportunity to taste the great Apulian wine. A private bus departing from the conference venue to Tenuta Merico will be set.
